A fully modular, 30m x 20m bar and festival set for Korev lager, built from reclaimed materials.
the challenge
To concept an exciting space that brings-to-life Korev's free-spirited brand proposition and can be deployed at multiple festivals throughout the UK. The assets produced needed to include a fully modular bar, seating areas, DJ booth and entrance walkway, allowing the set to scale up and down based on the footprint available at each festival. Importantly, heralding from Cornwall, protecting the environment is of huge importance to Korev, so designing and building this set with sustainability in mind formed a key part of the brief.
the solution
The rustic look and feel of our space was inspired by Korev's roots - 'Free-Spirit meets Cornish Soul' - and included several nods to the coast. We produced multiple stand-alone assets that provided the flexibility to work well in isolation, but that could also be seamlessly grouped together to create a large, 30m x 20m space. Ensuring we minimised our impact on the environment, we used reclaimed materials throughout the build, including refurbished pallets, old surfboards and recycled coffee bags. To drive awareness of Korev's 'Coast with a Conscience' beach cleaning initiative, we used debris washed in and collected from Cornish beaches (old fishing nets, plastic bottles etc) and created a thought-provoking art installation which formed a central focal point to our set.
